Floor and More (“we”, “us”) is a flooring showroom and installer at 7027 Roper Road NW, Edmonton, Alberta. This page explains what personal information we collect through floorandmorecanada.com, why, and what you can do about it. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
When you request a quote, order samples, book a basement check, open a trade account or contact us, we collect what you type into the form: typically your name, phone number, email address, postal code or address, and details about your project (room, size, timeline, insurance claim status, and anything you add in a message). If you call us, we may note the same details.
Our website also collects standard technical information automatically, such as the page you arrived from, campaign tags in the link you clicked, your browser type and approximate location. If advertising measurement (for example the Meta Pixel) is active on a page, it may set cookies and share your interactions with that page with the advertising provider so we can see which ads led to enquiries.
Why we collect it
- To contact you about your enquiry, book a visit and prepare a written quote.
- To send samples or the quote to the address and email you gave us.
- With your permission, to share your quote and job details with your insurance adjuster.
- To keep a record of the job for warranty and service purposes.
- To understand which of our advertising brings enquiries, so we can spend it better.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not send marketing email or text messages without your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by telling us.
Who sees it
Your details are stored in the customer relationship system we use to run the business and are seen by the Floor and More staff who handle your enquiry and job. Service providers who host our website, forms, email and advertising measurement process data on our behalf and under our instructions; some of them store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to local law. We share your information with an insurance adjuster only when you ask us to, and with anyone else only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become a job are kept for up to two years so we can follow up if you come back. Job records are kept for the length of the warranty on that job plus the period our accountants require, and then deleted or anonymized.
Cookies and advertising measurement
You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without them. To control how Meta uses information collected through the Pixel on sites you visit, see your Meta ad preferences. If you arrive from an ad, the link may carry campaign tags that we store with your enquiry so we know how you found us.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (unless we need it for a live job, a warranty or a legal requirement). If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
